Alebtong embarks on rehabilitation of major roads

Alebtong district local government has announced plans to begin rehabilitation of major roads to improve on the general roads infrastructure of the area and also to facilitate trade and development. The LC V chairman of Alebtong district Mr Dickens Kennedy Odongo says with funding from Uganda Road Fund, they have earmarked several roads to work on in the next financial year which starts tomorrow 1st July 2021.
The roads which are set for rehabilitation are;  Apala-Bar in Lira district 11km, Okokolako-Amugo, Pila Onyok bridge -Amugu and Angetta, Alebtong-Adwir among others.
Odongo says works on the selected roads to begin as soon as the district receives money from the Uganda Road Fund.
Francis Ogwang Abwang, the LC III chairman of Adwir sub-county said this is a well-thought intervention for the district since members of the community were facing challenges in accessing social services due to poor roads. He challenged people to be productive enough now that most of the roads will be rehabilitated to enhance their socio-economic status.
