Dokolo bans truck drivers from parking in town as COVID-19 cases surge

The coronavirus task force of the Dokolo district has suspended all truck drivers from parking within the Dokolo town council during this period of the lockdown. This is intended to scale down the rate of infection which has been high in the district.

Ms Anna Odongo Lumumba, the Dokolo Resident District Commissioner (RDC) directed the security team to begin enforcing the ban. She says any truck driver who defies this ban should be arrested. Dr. Samuel Ojok, the District Health Officer (DHO) says 305 confirmed positive cases were recorded in the district in one week from 607 samples taken.

According to Dr. Ojok, the district has received 430 doses of covid-19 vaccines which have been distributed to various health center III’s in the district to make it more accessible by people.
