KALAKI. Mr Joseph Akwar who is alleged to have tried to kill Simon Akwar (62), a businessman and resident of Otule village, Anyara Moru Parish in Kalaki District, has been arrested.
This alleged incident occurred on Tuesday 26th November 2021 at Midnight in Otule village and was first reported at Anyara Police station under SD REF:04/26/10/2021 and investigation commenced vide Kalaki CRB: 145/2021 of Kalaki CPS.
Muhangi Edison the District Police commander of Kalaki visited and examined the scene of the crime where the victim was found in a pool of blood and unconscious. East Kyoga police spokesperson ASP Ageca Oscar Gregory said the victim sustained two deep cuts on the right ear and directly in the middle of the head where the machete (panga) got stuck.
Ageca says the victim had wrangles with the suspect over animals the suspect allegedly sold without the victim’s knowledge. The suspect (Joseph Akwar) is the victim’s biological son.
The victim was evacuated to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital where he was further referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital. He is currently battling for his life. END
