Gospel musicians have been urged to compose songs that preach the word of God.

Pastor Patrick Abal the district pastor of Amolatar and head of pastors under Amolatar Zone of SDA says church music composition should carry elements that are not secular with recommended chords, well noted, harmonized and melodious with gospel messages.

He made the remarks during an ongoing annual music retreat at Agikdak SDA primary school Amolatar. The seven days retreat has attracted more than 400 members of different singing groups of Seventh-day Adventist faith.

Elder Francis Awena the Northern Uganda field youth and music director said the retreat is meant to revive the life of the christians as they prepare for transition from 2021-2022.

‘‘This retreat covers about five church districts of SDA, other participants are from the neighboring districts. This celebration is to revive and transform Christians from the stress of Covid as they prepare for a new beginning in 2021.” Said Awena.
