Fire guts Supreme Court building

Kampala. The Supreme Court building in Kampala was on Wednesday morning gutted by fire.It is alleged that the fire which broke out at around 10:00 am started from the
Chief Justice Chambers igniting other rooms.A staff that spoke to our reporter on condition of anonymity says they first heard loud bangs on the
3rd floor where the CJ sits before they saw smoke coming out. He says nobody was hurt in the fire.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson
confirms the fire outbreak.

He says the Directorate of Fire and Rescue Services responded immediately and managed to put
off the fire.

Owoyesigyire says police are currently investigating the cause of the fire
and the extent of the damage it caused.
