KCCA FC to start hosting night games after CHINT sponsorship

Kampala-KCCA FC will in the second round of the 2022 – 2023 season, start hosting night games at its home courtesy of stadium lighting by CHINT Uganda.

CHINT will light up the MTN Omondi Stadium with state-of-the-art flood lights that will enable the club to host night football.

The development was announced at an event on Monday where the electronic company was unveiled as the Principal Shirt Sponsor for KCCA FC and the Official Lighting Partner for the same football club.

CHINT Uganda is an exclusive franchise holder of CHINT International that has been growing soundly and showing a good image to the public since the 1980s.

Founded in 1984, CHINT is a leading global provider of smart energy solutions, covering an integrated whole industry chain of power generation, storage, transmission, substation, distribution, sales, and consumption.

“This is in line with our strategic objectives and we are delighted to come on board as principal Shirt partner. We are honoured that you trusted us to provide the stadium light solution which will provide night football to the fans.” Remarked Sherry Shi – Managing Director, the Managing Director Chint at the event to unveil this partnership held in Kampala on Monday.

Officiating at the function, Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago who is also the Patron of KCCA FC said ” It’s a huge milestone in the area of soccer and in the development of sports generally in our country which should be embraced not only by our fans but all the stakeholders in this particular sector.”

Lukwago also called on the players and technical team to do their best to improve the club’s performance.

“We are making a call to all players, we are making a call to the technical team, they must up the game. We don’t entertain slopeness, mediacrety that’s not tolerated. KCCA has got a huge history profile and it’s a very big brand and a reason we are attracting investors like this one and we shall not afford any kind of slopeness or mediacrety we are going to push forward as an institution an agenda of ensuring that we remain on top. Our performance in the last season wasn’t the best. Even what is happening right now. No we can’t accept that so we are going to do our best to pull up the banner” Said Lukwago

KCCA FC was founded on 12 April 1963 by Samuel Wamala, who was head of KCCA Council’s Sewage Works section in the City Engineering Department. The club initially was dominated by casual workers in the sewage section ( hence the but subsequently expanded to cover all departments within Kampala City Council now Kampala Capital City Authority.
