Luuka- A man in Luuka district has been lynched by mob for allegedly murdering his 7 year old son.
The deceased father has been identified as Brian Wotala (38) a resident of Budana A village in Bukooma sub county, Luuka district.
It is alleged that on Thursday at around 10:00am Wotala assaulted his son over issues yet to be established and that it was after the beating that the juvenile died.
On learning of the occurrence, a group of angry people from the same area reportedly gathered and started hunting for Wotala before hitting and cutting him to death at his mother’s place, where he was hiding.
Micheal Kasadha, the Busoga North police spokesperson says preliminary investigations suggest that the juvenile has been staying with the grandmother, ever since Wotala divorced his wife (mother to the deceased juvenile).
“The scene was visited by a team of detectives. From the scene blood stained hoes, hoe handles, sticks and other exhibits of evidential value were recovered.” notes Kasadha
He says the bodies were taken to Kiyunga Health Center IV mortuary where postmortem was conducted and further inquiries are ongoing.
