By Moses Obwona

Dokolo – Bata police station in Bata Town Council is holding the LC II chairman of Central ward, Peter Ogwel for allegedly stealing a duck from a neighbor’s home.

It is reported that locals of Onekocani cell, Central Ward in Dokolo Town Council on Wednesday arrested Ogwel and handed him over to the police with a stolen duck as evidence. He was held together with two others; Ambrose Epila and Benjamin Orieko.

According to Nelson Ejom, the LCI chairman of Onekocani cell, the trio was on Wednesday evening caught red handed slaughtering the duck at the home of Ogwel.  He says this followed a search mounted by the duck’s owner Vivian Adong and other locals.

The matter was reported to the area LC1 chairman Nelson Ejom who together with locals arrested the trio and handed them over to police.

Efforts to speak to the Officer in Charge of Bata police station were futile as his known mobile phone was switched off by press time.

However, Bata Town Council chairman Rashid Eton confirmed to LBS Newsday that Ogwel and his accomplices were arrested in connection to the theft.
