Election of Pastor Ogwal as Dokolo District Pentecostal leader overturned

The National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches has overturned the election of Pastor John Bosco Ogwal as District Overseer in Dokolo for failing to follow the electoral procedures.

Pastor John Bosco Ogwal was elected in September by pastors from Dokolo district but his victory was challenged by Rev. Nicholas Akwena who had contested for the same position.

His victory was overturned on Thursday at the Presbyterian Church Dokolo before elders and pastors from Dokolo and East Lango province.

The Provincial Elections officer James Ogwang found out that Pastor John Bosco Ogwal had not presented a running mate as vice chairperson at the time of vetting and nomination as required by the guidelines of elections under the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches.

That means Rev. Nicolas Akwena now becomes the duly elected District Overseer of Born again in Dokolo.

Pastor John Bosco Ogwal expressed dissatisfaction about the nullification saying he will seek further guidance while Rev. Nicholas Akwena lauded the commission promising to unite all.
