Bishop Joshua Becharm elected Evangelical Orthodox Church international patriarch

Kampala-The Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) International Synod that sat on 4th November, 2022 in Indianapolis, USA elected Bishop Joshua Becharm of USA the new international patriarch.  Becharm takes on the mantle from Patriarch Jerold Gilege who stepped down after clocking the mandated 75 years.

The Holy Synod also elected Rev. Fr. Bruno Ssekiryamuba Muhindo and Rev. Fr. Joseph Birungi Bizibu as Bishop for North Kivu Diocese, Democratic Republic of Congo and Auxiliary Bishop of Kampala Diocese in Uganda respectively.

The International Holy Synod resolutions where read by the presiding Bishop of EOC in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka during the Trans night prayers held at Mamre Prayer International Prayer Centre in Namugongo Janda on Saturday night.

The announcement left a mammoth of congregation who attended the Trans night healing and deliverance Divine Liturgy in great joy and jubilations.

Meanwhile, Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka told the congregation to own up their responsibilities of taking good care of the children in the holiday so that they don’t catch the deadly Ebola and also not to engage in the acts of immorality.

“Parents must be diligent and prudent by following all the Standard Operating Procedures to make sure children reach home safe from school and also keep them safe at home. Parents must be strict not to let them meander around otherwise they might catch the virus and bring it to the family hence all family may end up dead since Ebola is fatal.
