Police launch hunt for 11 suspects who escaped from cells in Dokolo

Dokolo – Police in Dokolo are hunting for 11 suspects who escaped from cells at the main station.

It’s alleged that on the 23th February 2023 at an unknown time in the night, the suspects escaped from lawful custody from Dokolo Central Police Station.

It was established that the doors to the cell was not tempered with rather the suspects exited the cell by cutting one of the iron bars on the ventilators.

According to Patrick Jimmy Okema the North Kyoga police spokesperson, the officers who were deployed for night duty have all been arrested and charged with Neglect of duty.

He says statements have been recorded from suspects (cells guards) and their files are being compiled on criminal charges and will be submitted to Resident State Attorney for legal advice.

“Out of the 11 escapees 09 of them were pending court and 02 were still under investigations,” said Okema

He appealed for support from the local leadership in the hunt for this suspects such that they can be re-arrested and taken to court accordingly.

A case of escape from lawful custody has been registered vide Dokolo CRB 138/2023.

1. Okwang Raymond charged of Theft.

2. Owiny Innocent charged of burglary and theft.

3. Adep Allan charged of burglary and theft.

4. Okwir Daniel charged of Assault.

5. Epong Ivan charged of theft cash worth 1200000=

6. Eboga Micheal charged with an offence of going armed in public.

7. Ebwor Oscar charged of Malicious damage, Criminal trespass and Assault.

8. Oryee Aron charged of defilement .

9. Ekadu Patrick charged of defilement

10. Okodi Ronald charged with being in possession of dangerous weapons

11. Okello Isaac charged of theft.
