Dokolo district councilor arrested for alleged robbery

Dokolo – Police at Dokolo Central Police are holding Rafael Okello, a district councilor representing Bata town council on allegation of robbing a self proclaimed prophet.

It is reported that on the 8th of May this year, Prophet Charles Edyelo and Milly Okello both residents of Kaburapoli village in Akampala parish Kaberamaido district went for prayers in Bata town council and Okello allegedly robbed 200,000 shillings and Motorcycle registration number UFM 381R from them.

One eye witness told our reporter that the self-proclaimed prophet on their way to Bata town council in Western Ward where the prayers were being held, reportedly dropped a horn near the place.

He said after the community that had gathered together waiting for the prophet saw them dropping the horn, there was some disagreement between the parties that led them to report the case to Bata police station.

Patience Baganzi, the Dokolo district Police commander confirmed that Okello is under police custody on allegation of simple robbery.

“Okello is charged for simple robbery and the case is registered under SD Ref: 45/11/05/2023 Dokolo Central Police station,” she said
