Amolatar – Police in Amolatar are investigating circumstances under which a man was cut for alleged failure to buy meat at home.
A picture of the man cut on the back of the head circulated on different social media platforms which attracted police’s attention.
According to Patrick Jimmy Okema the police spokesperson North Kyoga region, the victim identified as Denis Obua aged 44yrs old, a peasant farmer and resident of Abutataro village, Alemere parish, Agwingiri Sub-County, Amolatar District was cut by his wife one Acen Milly.
“It’s alleged that the victim Obua Denis got involved in a relationship with another woman who’s yet to be identified, hence on the 24th December 2023, Obua Denis went ahead and bought meat for the new lady but didn’t buy for his family and his wife Acen wasn’t happy,” said Okema.
“When Obua went back home at around 22:00hours he was attacked by Acen and they started fighting, later Acen picked a panga from the house and cut Obua at the back of his head,” he added
The chairman LC1 of the area was informed together with the brother of the victim Okwir Patrick who quickly responded and rushed the victim to Amai Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
“Police later visited the scene of crime with SOCO who documented it, statements recorded from witnesses. An exhibit of a panga has been recovered from the scene of crime and exhibited at the police as evidence,” said Okema
The suspect Acen Milly was arrested and detained at Amolatar Central Police Station as inquiries into the matter continue.
Okema has condemned very strongly the action of the woman of taking the law into her own hands. He notes that once investigations are complete, she will be charged and the file taken to RCSA for perusal and advice.
