Dokolo Woman MP calls for equality in addressing issues facing traders in Uganda.

In recent years, the issue of equality has been at the forefront of many discussions, especially in regards to addressing problems facing different communities.

The call for equal treatment and opportunities has been echoed by many, and now, Sarah Aguti, the woman member of Parliament for Dokolo district, is adding her voice to the conversation.

During the burial of Jessica Ocero Okello in Amwoma sub county recently, Aguti highlighted the need for equality in addressing the challenges facing traders in Uganda.

MP Aguti emphasizes the need for government intervention to support traders in Dokolo district, just as they do for traders in Kampala.

As a leader, Aguti is taking a firm stance on the importance of providing equal support and solutions for traders across the country.

She is calling on the government to not only focus on the challenges faced by traders in Kampala, but also to extend their efforts to address the problems faced by traders in Dokolo and other regions.

“These traders play a vital role in their communities, providing essential goods and services to the people” She said.

The sentiment shared by Aguti is one that resonates with many Ugandans. The call for equal treatment and opportunities is a fundamental principle that should be upheld in any society.

Meanwhile, the Archdeacon of Dokolo urban archdeaconry, Rev. Can. Silvestor Ocen, also weighed in on the issue, stating that politics is not a dirty game, but it is those who play politics that make it dirty.

This statement serves as a reminder that it is the actions and attitudes of individuals that can either promote equality or perpetuate inequality.

Recently the president of the Republic of Uganda Gen. Yoweri Museveni directed the tax regulatory body (URA) to suspend any penalties for failure to use the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution (EFRIS) receipting system for a month as consultations with traders in Kampala and upcountry continues.
