“From Local Leaders to National Figures: Ugandan District Chairpersons Rise As MP Candidates with Voter Endorsement”

The people of Kalaki county in Kalaki district and Kyoga North county in Amolatar district are rallying behind their district chairpersons Samuel Okello (Kalaki ) and Geoffrey Ocen Kiring (Amolatar) as they throw their hats into the ring for the 2026-2031 parliamentary elections.

The remarkable chairpersons have proven their worth through their commendable work in the district, earning the trust and respect of their constituents.

The voters have been vocal in their recommendation for the district chairpersons to take their leadership skills to a bigger platform and represent them as Members of Parliament.

On October 23, 2024, Geoffrey Ocen, the LC5 chairperson of Amolatar district, officially declared his candidacy for the position of area member of parliament for Kioga North constituency.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Amolatar district Education Hall where he expressed his determination.

Voters especially UPC Party supporters where he is a member in Amolatar district are fearlessly recommending Ocen against his colleges who will be contesting in other political parties like; NRM, FDC, NUP, Independent among others.

Amolatar North county is currently being represented in the 11th Parliament by the Kaberamaido business tycoon also Amolatar district NRM party chairperson James Olobo known as Dubai.

Meanwhile Samuel Okello the Kalaki district chairperson told this website that his commendable work in the community of Kalaki especially following up government programs has impressed many making them to recommend him for 2026-2031 parliamentary election against the Minister of State for Teso Affairs Hon. Dr. Ongalo-Obote Clement Kenneth.

Ajiko Angela a resident of Otuboi sub county said Okello is gaining support after pushing for the construction of health facility in the sub counties of Ogwolo , Otuboi and Kalaki that for long have been without public health facilities.

Amolatar North county and Kalaki county are two constituencies to watch during the 2026-2031 parliamentary election.
