Adeknino Seed Secondary School has been officially handed over to Dokolo District by Bygon Enterprises Limited.

January 4th 2025 Dokolo – The long-awaited Adeknino Seed Secondary School in Dokolo district has finally been completed and handed over to the district’s authorities in a grand ceremony. ‎‎

The handover took place at the school premises located in Owor Village, Adwong-owor parish in Adeknino sub county, in the presence of local leaders, government officials, and members of the community.

‎‎This new development marks a milestone in the district’s efforts to improve education and provide better facilities for its students.‎‎

The construction of Adeknino Seed Secondary School was awarded to Bygon Enterprises Limited on October 10th, 2022, with the expectation that it would be completed by June 24th, 2024.

‎‎This project was made possible through the U-GIFT program, with support from the Ministry of Education. ‎‎

With a total budget of Two Billion Six Hundred Eighty Six million Eight Hundred Forty Five Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Shillings Only (2,686,845,250), this school is set to provide quality education to the students of Dokolo, Lango and Uganda at large.

‎‎Okello Bosco Odongo, the technical director of Bygon Enterprises, expressed his gratitude to the district and the government of Uganda for entrusting them with the project.

‎‎However, he also highlighted the challenges they faced, such as delays in payments from the district and the Ministry of Finance, which slowed down the project’s progress and extended the completion time frame.‎‎

On the other hand, Charles Dickens Omara, the Dokolo District Engineer, praised Bygon Enterprises for their excellent work on the school and commended them for exhibiting great value for money in their work.

This sentiment was echoed by Joan Bua, the Secretary of Works and Technical Services, who urged the community to protect the school and asked the school administration to strive for academic excellence.‎‎

Santos Okuja, the Secretary of Education and Health, who represented the district chairperson, also congratulated the leadership of Dokolo district for their efforts in the development of Adeknino Seed Secondary School. ‎‎

He emphasized the importance of community support in maintaining and improving the school’s standards.‎‎

Deputy RDC of Dokolo district, Ismael Masaba, seized the opportunity to urge the residents to support the NRM government for better services and to avoid falling for empty promises from other political leaders.

‎‎He noted that the completion of Adeknino Seed Secondary School is just one of the many development projects being carried out by the NRM government in Dokolo district.‎‎

The Member of Parliament for Dokolo South county Felix Okot Ogong, also expressed his gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM government for their support in the construction of Adeknino Seed Secondary School.

‎‎He believes that the school will significantly improve the quality of education in Dokolo district and contribute to the overall development of the region.‎‎
