Douglas Otto, a 30 year old economist, has declared interest to challenge the incumbent Dokolo South MP, Felix Okot, who has been in office for six consecutive terms.
In a media engagement with Dokolo Journalist Development Association (DJDA) members held at the Dokolo Tourist Hotel on Friday, Otto is determined to bring about change in the constituency, with his main priorities being agriculture and livelihood, education, health, youth empowerment, governance, and infrastructural development.
Otto spoke passionately about his vision for the community and his belief that it is time for a new leader to take charge and bring about much needed progress in Dokolo South.
With his youthful energy and fresh ideas, Oto hopes to convince voters that he is the right person to bring about positive change and improve the lives of those in Dokolo South and entire district.
Stephen Opio Ongora, the chairperson Dokolo Journalists Development Association (DJDA) explained that journalists in Dokolo will continue with their peace journalism, transparent, check and balance coverage even during this forthcoming election.
He appeals to Journalists to avoid being double standards but be professional in their daily duties.Jaspher Olara Opori, a member of the association advised Oto to continue preaching the gospel irrespective of the age.
