Ugandans in South Africa celebrated the 63rd independence Anniversary.

Uganda’s 63rd Independence Anniversary was recently celebrated in South Africa at the Pretoria Country Club. ‎‎

The event was attended by dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps, friends of Uganda, and hundreds of Ugandan diaspora community members. ‎‎

The event, organized by the Uganda Embassy in South Africa, was a celebration of the strong and growing ties between the two nations.‎‎

In his speech, Amb Paul Amoru, the Ugandan Ambassador to South Africa, emphasized the country’s commitment to deeper intra-African trade and regional integration as key factors for socio-economic transformation. ‎‎

He highlighted the importance of trade that creates job opportunities, drives industrialization, strengthens value chains, and leads to shared prosperity.‎‎

One of the highlights of the event was the showcasing of Uganda’s culinary excellence.

Traditional delicacies and the country’s celebrated coffee were served, showcasing Uganda’s rich cultural heritage and acting as a bridge to strengthen people-to-people ties. ‎‎

Amb Amoru also expressed his gratitude to Hon. Pinky Kekana, South Africa’s Deputy Minister of Public Service, for gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.

‎‎This gesture demonstrates the mutual respect and collaboration between the two nations.‎‎

The two nations have been working closely together to strengthen these ties and move towards a more prosperous future for both countries.‎‎

Amb Amoru also reiterated the commitment of Uganda and South Africa to deepen cooperation, explore new partnerships, and leverage their strong relations to advance regional integration for the benefit of both nations and the entire continent.
