Annet Anita Among, the NRM 2nd National Vice Chairperson Female also speaker of Parliament, has urged the people of Nakapiripirit district to ignore the divisive politics of opposition politicians and instead focus on the tangible progress that has been made under the NRM government.
During her campaign for NRM Presidential Candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Naturum Village in Nakapiripirit district, Among said this includes the development of infrastructure such as tarmac roads, electricity, and water supply for both residential and commercial use among others.
She also urged the people to protect these achievements by voting for General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and other NRM candidates.
Daniel Ochap Matovu, the NRM district chairperson for Nakapiripirit, highlighted the significant improvement the district has seen under the NRM government.
He pointed out that Nakapiripirit district and the Karamoja sub region as a whole were previously neglected by past regimes, but have now flourished under the NRM.
Matovu called on the people to re-elect General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and other NRM candidates to continue this progress and protect the gains that have been made.
The First Lady, and education minister, Maama Janet Kataha Museveni also announced plans to prioritize security, peace, and modern housing in Nakapiripirit district and the broader Karamoja sub region.
This is part of her ongoing efforts to improve the overall standard of living for the people in this area emphasizing the importance of these initiativesGeneral Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the NRM presidential candidate then made a pledge to address the educational gaps in Nakapiripirit District in his upcoming term.
Out of the 35 Parishes in Nakapiripirit, only 15 currently have a government primary school, and 3 have government secondary schools.
General Museveni has promised to construct schools in the remaining areas that lack educational facilities.He also revealed plans to improve healthcare in the district.
This includes upgrading the Moruita Health Centre II to a Health Centre III in Moruita Sub-County, upgrading Lomuronyagae Health Centre II to a Health Centre III in Kawaach Sub-County, constructing Lemusui Health Centre III, constructing a new Akuyam Health Centre III in Kakomongole Sub-County, and constructing a new Loreng Health Centre III in Loreng Sub-County.
In order to boost the agricultural sector and improve access to markets for farmers in Nakapiripirit District, General Museveni has promised to implement strategic interventions.
He has also urged the people to support the NRM government’s message on wealth creation, which will create more job opportunities.
