Pride Bank Uganda, in collaboration with Jubilee Health and Padre Pio Insurance Brokers, has recently introduced Pride Care, a revolutionary insurance solution as part of their ‘Malayo ne Pride’ campaign.
This campaign name, ‘Malayo ne Pride,’ reflects the core benefit: Distance yourself from worry and financial distress with Pride’ perfectly captures the main advantage of this initiative.
The idea behind this partnership is to provide customers with peace of mind and financial security through Pride Care.
The concept is straightforward but impactful: customers who keep a minimum balance of UGX 100,000 in their Pride Bank accounts will automatically receive essential health insurance coverage.
This innovative approach merges healthcare protection with everyday banking, ensuring that financial inclusion expands beyond just loans and savings to include crucial coverage for unexpected medical expenses.
By embedding insurance into their savings system, the bank is addressing a significant gap in the market and helping individuals and families safeguard their well-being while promoting financial discipline.
Jubilee services can be accessed by customers at various health centers nationwide.
During the launch event, Ms. Veronicah Gladys Namagembe, the Managing Director of Pride Bank, highlighted the institution’s goal.
She stated, “At Pride Bank, we believe that true financial inclusion must include social protection. Pride Care is more than just a banking product; it is our commitment to support our customers through uncertainties and reassure them that their health and that of their families will be taken care of if they maintain a disciplined saving culture.”
According to Namagembe, Pride Care is divided into three tiers: Bronze, Gold, and Platinum.
The level of benefits increases proportionally with the customer’s monthly closing balance.
Jubilee Health Insurance CEO Dan Musiime remarked that while innovation is crucial for success in today’s competitive business environment, industry players must also collaborate and leverage synergies to provide the best service to their diverse customers.
“There are five common diseases covered under Pride Care. That’s Malaria, Typhoid, Diarrhea, Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) and Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (URTIs). These were carefully identified based on the healthcare data showing the ailments that most burden our customers.
For example, according to World Health Organization, Malaria accounted for 30-40% of Ugandan outpatient visits in 2023,” revealed Mr. Musiime.
Pride Bank has a 30-year legacy of driving financial inclusion.
The introduction of Pride Care builds on this heritage, reinforcing the bank’s vision to not only provide financial solutions but to also invest directly in the well-being and resilience of its customers.
