KABERAMAIDO: President of the Republic of Uganda General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has announced plans to improve the road infrastructure in Kaberamaido district.
This includes tarmacking the 73 km stretch from Katine to Ochero and the road connecting Ochero to Amolatar and Dokolo, with the goal of enhancing connectivity within the district and its surrounding areas.
According to Museveni, the necessary funds for the Katine to Ochero road have been secured and the process of selecting a suitable contractor is currently underway.
He has also promised to continue investing in infrastructure development in Kaberamaido district during his next term in office.
In addition to road improvements, Museveni has committed to improving electricity distribution and expanding the Ochero water supply system to reach the remaining 9% of households in the district.
These plans were shared during his presidential campaign rally at Kaburepoli Primary School in Ochero Sub County.
He also assured the people of Kaberamaido that two ferry services, connecting the neighboring districts of Kamuli, Serere, and Kaberamaido, will be deployed with the completion of their docking area.
Furthermore, General Museveni has pledged to upgrade Murem HCII to HCIII in Okile Sub County, as well as Kaburepoli HCII to HCIII in Ochero Sub County, and construct new HCIIIs in Oriamo and Kaberamaido sub-counties.
He also aims to work towards eradicating malaria in the district.
Encouraging the people of Kaberamaido to prioritize wealth creation, Museveni urged them to utilize the Parish Development Model Initiative funds as seed capital for starting businesses and commercial agricultural enterprises at the household level.
President Museveni gave reassurance to the voters that his government is dedicated to swiftly implementing development infrastructure in their area.
President Museveni also made a promise to provide a separate fund specifically for fishing communities in Kaberamaido district, apart from the PDM Initiative funds.
He justified this decision by acknowledging the higher capital requirements for fisheries enterprises and assured the public that this issue will be addressed in his next term of office.
Moreover, he confirmed the implementation of various funding schemes for different sectors.
The First Lady, Maama Janet Kataha Museveni, joined in the rally and encouraged the electorate to defend and uphold the achievements of the NRM party in order to further develop and create prosperity in their district.
