DOKOLO SOUTH: As the Dokolo South parliamentary race intensifies with three (3) candidates in the race namely; UPC’s Vincent Opito, NRM’s Felix Okot and DP’s Julius Engwau, the residents of Adwongowor parish in Adeknino Sub county Dokolo South county in Dokolo district have been captivated by a surprising confession.
Mzee Charles Ebunyu, a resident of the area, shared his story of dying and being brought back to life with a spiritual directive to vote for UPC’s Vincent Opito in the upcoming election.
Ebunyu stated that after his death and restoration, he was instructed to support Opito, which has generated significant attention and interest in the community.

But Mzee Charles Ebunyu is not the only one who has expressed such strong support for Opito.
Pius Erisu, the LC1 chairperson of Adwekber village, also declared his unwavering support for Opito.
He pointed out the fact that Dokolo South is constantly producing educated graduates who should be given leadership roles, instead of re-electing a politician who has been in power for 30 years and still wants more.
To top it off, Erisu made a bold statement, saying that if Opito does not win the 2026-31 election, he will leave his village and entire Lango sub region and move to a different area in Teso Sub region for settlement.
Erisu also posed a thought-provoking question – who holds the power in the relationship between a parent and an educated child who has a job and comes back home for a visit? He then answered it himself, stating that the parent is the one with the authority, just like how politicians should listen to the voices of the voters and not take them for granted.
In fact, Erisu went on to condemn the few support that he said some people are still giving to the long-serving leader, even after 30 years of his leadership without any significant progress.
He urged the voters to take charge and vote out the politician who has failed to bring positive change to the community.
His strong words were met with cheers and applause from the audience, as they too, share the same sentiment and are ready for a change in leadership.
In a show of support, swarms of women and men from Adwongowor parish collected money, bananas, and firewood worth over 500,000 Uganda shillings to demonstrate their love for Vincent Opito.

Voters expressed their enthusiasm for Opito’s candidacy, with Polly Ogwang stating that women suffer the most when leaders fail to perform their roles.

Dick Odur, the UPC party chairperson for Kangai sub-county, encouraged the community not to worry, assuring them that everything will be good this time.
Bosco Odongo Wangato, also expressed his happiness and gratitude towards the people of Dokolo South.
He stated that the overwhelming support and warm welcome received by Vincent Opito in Adeknino Sub county proves that the community is ready for change.
Peter Ogwang, the UPC flag bearer for Dokolo district chairperson said he will unite Dokolo and work regardless of political or religious life.

During a gathering, Vincent Opito expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by the people of Adeknino.
He addressed concerns about the lack of support for farmers and promised to work towards finding solutions to ensure that farmers receive the necessary support to get a good market for their produce.
