Political Rivalry Leads to Tragic Outcome: Man Injured in Dokolo South MP Race Feud, Hospital Bills Mounting

The situation in Dokolo South took a turn for the worse as a man reportedly sustained a spinal injury during a heated argument over who would win the MP race.

The incident left the man in need of urgent medical treatment at the Mulago Hospital, with an estimated cost of over ten million.

‎With three nominated candidates vying for the position of MP, the competition is tight between Vincent Opito of UPC, Felix Okot of NRM, and Julius Engwau of DP (who has since withdrawn from the race).

‎However, what started as a friendly discussion on “who” will win the Dokolo South MP race turned into a physical altercation between two individuals of Adeknino Sub county.

‎Dickens Odur, a resident of Aridi parish in Adeknino sub-county, witnessed the shocking incident where Tonny Omol from Acamogalu punched Bosco Egum, also 45 years old and from Aridi parish.

‎Odur said the aftermath of this altercation has left Egum with a spinal injury, as confirmed by CT scan results.

According to Odur, the victim (Bosco Egum) has been transferred to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he will require a surgery costing over ten million shillings.

He said the matter has been reported to Adeknino police station as the investigation continue.

As his brother, Odur is calling on the support of well-wishers and politicians to help raise funds for Egum’s treatment.

As we approach the election day on Thursday, January 15th, this unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of peaceful and respectful political discussions, especially during election season.
