The newly posted Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Amolatar District, Ms Rodha Oroma, has been tasked to complete the construction of the multi-billion shilling district administration block.
The outgoing CAO, Mr Paul Samuel Mbiwa, who has been transferred to Rubirizi District, made the call recently during the handover ceremony held in Fisheries Grounds at the District headquarters.
Mr Mbiwa advised Ms Oroma to work closely with district stakeholders to lobby funding from the Ministry of Finance in order to complete the administration block, which is currently in its fifth phase of construction.
He also appealed to his successor to prioritize the recruitment of key staff to improve service delivery in the district.
Mr Mbiwa thanked the district chairperson and staff for the cordial working relationship during his tenure, which he said enabled him to successfully execute his duties.
Ms Oroma, who has been transferred from Kapelebyong District, called for teamwork between the political and technical wings of the district.
Oroma who is the first female CAO since the creation of Amolatar District in 2005 pledged to steer the district to greater heights in service delivery and development.
Amolatar District Chairperson, Mr Geoffrey Ocen, in his remarks commended the outgoing CAO for supporting his administration, which he said contributed to several development achievements and enabled the electorate to entrust him with a parliamentary seat as Member of Parliament–elect for Kyoga County North.
Mr Ocen encouraged the new CAO to focus on resource mobilization to facilitate capital development projects, including the administration block, which he said was a presidential pledge.
He further urged her to motivate staff and maintain good working relations to ensure effective service delivery.The Amolatar Resident District Commissioner, Mr Okello Francis Rwotlonyo, pledged total support to the new CAO in the execution of her duties.
Retired Rev. Canon Vincent Ogwang who preached at the handover ceremony noted that leaders come and go but the most important is have a good legacy and sustainability plans for those left behind.
Rev Canon Ogwang who retired last year as Dean of Aduku Cathedral in West Lango Diocese also appeal to leaders to seek the wisdom of God to lead His people in the right direction.
