Judiciary Officers Gather for Quarterly Prayer Breakfast and Thanksgiving in Kampala.‎‎

The interfaith gathering has drawn participation from Justices, Judges, Registrars, Magistrates, and Judiciary staff across various court levels.

Also in attendance is Ms Ruth Mputeni, Chief Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Officer of the Malawi Judiciary, who continues her benchmarking engagement with the Uganda Judiciary.‎‎

The programme is being led by Bishop Joshua Lwere, the General Overseer of the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches (NFBPC) in Uganda and Sheikh Mohammad Ali Wasswa, Th Deputy Mufti of Uganda, reflecting the Judiciary’s commitment to inclusivity and spiritual unity. ‎‎

The Principal Judge, Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo, representing the Chief Justice, is presiding over the Judiciary’s Quarterly Prayer Breakfast and Thanksgiving at the Supreme Court Building Conference Hall in Kampala, bringing together judicial officers, staff, and invited guests for a moment of reflection, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.‎‎

Proceedings are moderated by the Acting Chief Registrar, Pamella Lamunu Ocaya, assisted by HW Timothy Lumunye.

‎‎In her opening remarks, HW Lamunu Ocaya emphasized the spiritual significance of the gathering, noting that the administration of justice is guided not only by human effort but also by divine authority.

Drawing from Psalm 93:4, she emphasized the need for judicial officers to continually seek wisdom, integrity, and compassion in the discharge of their duties.‎‎

She described the Prayer Breakfast as a sacred platform for reflection and thanksgiving, urging members of the Judiciary to remain steadfast in upholding justice while embracing humility, mercy, and service.

She further called on officers to recognize both the blessings of life and the weight of responsibility entrusted to them in delivering justice that inspires public confidence.‎‎

The Vision Bearer and President of the Judiciary Christian Fellowship, Lady Justice Sarah Langa Siu, welcomed participants and introduced the newly constituted Fellowship executive. ‎‎

She congratulated the Chief Justice on his recent appointment, noting that this marks the first quarterly gathering under his leadership.‎‎

Justice Langa Siu reaffirmed the Fellowship’s commitment to praying for the Judiciary leadership and promoting godly principles in justice administration.‎‎

She emphasized that justice is a divine mandate entrusted to judicial officers as stewards, calling for a corruption-free, fair, and principled justice system.

‎‎She further highlighted the role of the Fellowship in advancing spiritual wellness within the institution, noting that a spiritually grounded Judiciary strengthens accountability, integrity, and service delivery.
