Northern Region Shines at 18th UPS SACCO Annual General Meeting.‎

The Northern Region of Uganda Prisons Service (UPS) has been recognized as the Best Performing Region in SACCO activities, a testament to its outstanding participation, savings culture, and commitment to the growth of the SACCO.

‎This achievement was announced at the 18th UPS SACCO Annual General Meeting, where outstanding members were awarded for their performance during the Financial Year 2025.

The Commissioner General of Prisons awarded the best performers in three key categories: Best Share Buyers, Best Savers, and Best Loan Performers. The recognition highlighted the commitment, discipline, and financial responsibility of SACCO members across the Service.

‎In the Best Share Buyers category, the following members were recognised:
‎Rtd. CP Kisitu Andrew, ACP Betty Semwogerere Juliet, PRRO Dorothy Apimo, CPL/WDR Kassim Isadat, Ms. Nalugwa Rebecca, CH/WDR I Mike Okello, AC/ASST Munaba Loyce Tabitha, and Mr. Ocaya Denis.

Under the Best Savers category, the awardees were: SCP Wilson Francis Magomu, Rtd. CP Mary Kaddu Nakayiza, ASP Hakiza Ronald, ASP Maliam Akao, P.O II Opio Jimmy, CPL/WDR Muhereza Didas, CPL/WDRSS Amanya Lydia, and CH/WDRSS Molly Priska Apio.

In the Best Loan Performers category, recognition went to:
‎Ag. SCP Najjuma Geraldine Prossy, ACP Leni Ndori, SP Esther Lamunu, ASP Vian Mugisha, P.O I Najibu Magembe, SGT Ojara Richard, WDRSS Akol Frances, and Ms. Joy Niwomujuni.

The winners were commended for setting a strong example, noting that their efforts greatly contribute to the growth and stability of the SACCO.

‎The strength of the SACCO in improving staff welfare and promoting financial independence was also emphasized.
