The Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Projects (UCSATP) will be undertaking the rehabilitation of a 21.96km farm access road out of about 4,135 KM road Network in Dokolo district.
This initiative aims to improve the accessibility of the community to their farms and neighborhood.
The Chairman of the Production, Marketing, Natural Resources and LED, Hon Alex Owera Omola, announced this development during the council meeting held on 04/11/2025.
According to Owera Omola, the UCSATP will be focusing on rehabilitating a total of 21.96km of roads in all Sub counties of Dokolo district.
These include Te-Ilwa – Alela (1.7km) in Bata sub county, Aneralibi – Arikeno in Okwongodul (1.5km), Atabu – Bardege swamp (1.8km), Bata T/C – Along Trading center via Agwa Bridge (0.5km), Aribi – Koroto swamp (2.4 km), Ayira – Atali (2.5km), Adwongmitipere – Ogoronyut (0.65km), 4.1 km road in Adok, Iguli – Oringopala – Abat (0.52km), Acogogwen – Abalang (0.45 km), Okerkok – Abenyonya (0.47km), and Aputaputa – Aduodyek (1.5km).
Furthermore, a total of 9.19 km of roads within the district will also be rehabilitated. Other roads to be worked on include Apenyo- Alapata (4.3km) and Amuk- Amit- Apewotneki (4.89km).
These roads will undergo graveling and culvert installation to improve their condition.
Dr. Richard Enyang, the District Production Officer of Dokolo, stated that the Uganda Smart Agricultural Transformation Projects will not only focus on road rehabilitation but also on the establishment of other key infrastructure.
This includes the construction of a laboratory for crops and livestock, valley dums, and the rehabilitation of 14 road chocks in the district.
He noted that all 14 road chocks have been thoroughly assessed, verified, and approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animals Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF).
This is an exciting development for the community of Dokolo district, which is set to benefit greatly from these projects.
