Shaking Up Education: Amolatar District Transfers 120 Staff Members ahead of First Term Reopening

As schools gear up for the first term reopening, Amolatar District has taken a strategic step towards improving the quality of education in government-aided schools.

‎The district has announced the transfer of 17 head teachers, six deputy head teachers, and 97 teachers in a bid to strengthen school leadership and enhance pupil learning.

‎According to Ogwang Andrew Kizito, the Communication Officer Amolatar, the reshuffle is aimed at improving performance in government-aided schools across the district.

‎He said the strategic decision was informed by several factors, including the need to fill staffing gaps, prolonged stay of some teachers at one station, and requests from school management committees.

Ogwang noted that the staff reorganization, which takes immediate effect, is expected to address staffing shortages in schools that have been experiencing low learner performance due to inadequate teaching staff.

‎However, in a related development, Ogwang explained that the district has also advertised 20 teaching positions to fill vacancies left by teachers who have died, retired, or abandoned duty.

In the recently released Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Amolatar District recorded 57 pupils in Division One, Division Two 810, Division Three 342, Division Four 361, Division U 608 and Division X 27 out of a total of 2,505 pupils.
