The atmosphere at the emergency meeting held at Oyirogole Primary school in Dokolo district on Wednesday has brought out several accusations as parents were not happy with the deteriorating education standards in the school and had several complaints against the head teacher, Peter Abac. ‎‎

In an emergency meeting held on Wednesday, parents and stakeholders of the school made a bold move to demand a change in leadership. ‎‎

After numerous complaints about dwindling education standards, the parents have handed over their head teacher, Peter Abac, to the office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Dokolo.‎‎

This decision was not taken lightly, as it follows a recent letter written by some parents under Oyirogole chapel council and addressed to local leaders, the DEO’s office, and the CAO’s office. ‎‎

The letter highlights shocking allegations against Peter Abac, including his failure to call for Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, his use of weapons like panga, knife, spear, bow and arrow while visiting the trading center, and his lack of respect for parents. ‎‎

The letter also accuses him of neglecting his duties, resulting in the transfer of four teachers without proper replacements.‎‎In light of these serious concerns, an emergency meeting was called and attended by parents, stakeholders, and officials from the sub county chief’s office and the district education office. ‎‎

The outcome of the meeting was a unanimous decision to hand over Peter Abac back to the district and replace him with his deputy, Sam Acai, as the acting headteacher. ‎‎

They said this interim arrangement will be in place until a new head teacher is appointed by the district.‎‎

During the meeting, Fred Lawrance Otim, the Kangai sub county chief who represented CAO’s office, assured the parents that he will report back to the CAO’s office and ensure that the concerns raised are addressed. ‎‎

He also addressed the issue of teacher transfer, promising that all teachers transferred from Oyirogole Primary School will be called back to help maintain the smooth running of the school.‎‎

Rubby Ajwika, the Amatiburu Center Coordinating Tutor (CCT),  who represented the DEO’s office in the meeting, also spoke out against the behavior of head teachers in the area.‎‎

She urged them to be respectful and attentive to all stakeholders, to avoid a similar fate as Peter Abac.‎‎

LC3 Chairperson of Kangai sub county Daniel Okwany thanks the leadership of Oyirogole chapel council for their wise vision towards the development of the education at Oyirogole primary school.‎‎

Dicken Obote, a councilor representing Kangai sub county in Dokolo district council said what has happened to Peter Abac should be a eye opener to people of Dokolo district who are given work to do but doing it recklessly.‎‎

In 2023 Peter Abac is reportedly handed over to the district by parents of Adwila Modern primary school where he was heading and district took him to Oyirogole primary school where yesterday he was again handed over back to the district.‎
