Retired Justice Augustine Nshimye Laid to Rest in Mityana.

The Judiciary family has today joined family and friends for the burial ceremony of the Late Retired Justice Augustine Sebutulo Nshimye at his country home in Namutamba Village, Bulera Sub-county, Mityana District.

Justice Nshimye, who passed away last Friday at his home in Kamwokya, was honoured with an official burial by the Government of Uganda in recognition of his distinguished service to the nation in both judicial and public office.

‎The Judiciary family is led by the Chief Justice, Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, and includes a cross-section  of Judicial Officers, both serving and retired, and senior administrators.

Different speakers have described Justice Nshimye as a dedicated jurist, a principled leader, and a man of deep humility.

‎The family remembered him as a loving father, devoted grandfather, and a compassionate individual who was always willing to support others.

The main celebrant, Rtd. Rev. Dr. James Bukomeko Ssalongo, urged mourners to emulate the late Judge’s values of integrity, service, and kindness.

Justice Nshimye’s legacy spans decades of public service, during which he served in various capacities including as a Member of Parliament, Minister of State, Justice of the Court of Appeal, and later Justice of the Supreme Court.

At the time of his death, he continued to contribute to the justice system as a court-accredited mediator.
