Roofings Group Celebrates 30th Anniversary with UMA

Founded in 1994, the company is known for its dedication to innovation, sustainability, and supporting Uganda’s industrial growth.

Roofings Group, a prominent player in Uganda’s manufacturing industry, is marking a significant milestone by celebrating 30 years of partnership with the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA).

This dual anniversary recognizes three decades of unwavering commitment to the growth of Uganda’s industrial and manufacturing sectors.

Roofings Group is the largest manufacturer of steel and plastic construction materials in East Africa, providing a wide range of high-quality products such as galvanized steel, color-coated sheets, and polypipes.

Since its founding in 1994, Roofings Group has grown into a leading supplier of steel products to over 70 manufacturers in Uganda and has become a key contractor to various local service providers.

The company’s contribution to the country’s manufacturing landscape has positioned it as a critical player in the development of Uganda’s industrial sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Stuart Jason Mwesigwa, Corporate Affairs Manager at Roofings Group, reflected on the company’s journey with UMA.

“We are proud to be among the pioneer members who have walked this journey with UMA for the last 30 years. Our Chairman and founder, Dr Sikander Lalani, was among the founding members of the Uganda Manufacturers Association. Our shared vision for Uganda’s economic growth through industrialization is reflected in the work we do every day – supplying quality steel products, supporting local businesses, and fostering sustainable development,” Mwesigwa noted.

Over the years, Roofings Group has evolved into East Africa’s largest producer of premium steel and plastic construction materials, with a diverse product portfolio that caters to the construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries.

The company’s state-of-the-art facilities, including Roofings Polypipes and Roofings Rolling Mills, have established Roofings as the largest manufacturer of galvanized and pre-painted steel products in the region.

Roofings’ commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability has been a driving force behind its success.

The company has embraced eco-friendly manufacturing processes and recycling initiatives, positioning itself as a leader in environmental sustainability.

This dedication has earned Roofings numerous local and international accolades and awards, solidifying its reputation for excellence.

Looking ahead, Roofings Group remains committed to supporting local industries, creating job opportunities, and contributing to East Africa’s economic growth.

As Uganda’s manufacturing sector continues to expand, Roofings’ role in shaping the country’s socio-economic development is set to grow even further.
