Dokolo District Recovers Over Ten Million PDM Funds from Non-Beneficiaries.

The Dokolo District Local Government has recently made headlines with their impressive efforts to crackdown on the misuse of Parish Department Model (PDM) funds.

As reported by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Babra Akech in a briefing to journalists, the office has successfully recovered over ten million shillings from non-beneficiaries.

Following a long holiday, RDC Akech reassured the public that the government is taking all necessary measures to monitor the various projects in the district.

She urged the community to continue reporting any suspicious activities and individuals to ensure that the funds reach their intended beneficiaries.

In her statement, Akech emphasized that it is unacceptable for the wealthy to take advantage of the PDM program, designed to support the less fortunate members of society.

The RDC has made a vow to prevent this type of exploitation and ensure that the targeted poor individuals receive the much-needed aid.

The RDC’s plea to the residents of Dokolo District is not only for them to report dishonest individuals, but also to understand the importance of their role in this process.

“The success of the PDM program relies on the cooperation of the community in identifying and reporting any misuse of funds” she said.

Furthermore, Akech also called upon civil servants to refrain from registering their spouses as beneficiaries in the parishes where they are overseeing government programs.

As the security of the district, the RDC confirmed that appropriate actions will be taken against any civil servant found engaging in such activities.

In addition, Akech shed light on the issue of bribery, pointing out that some parish chiefs were receiving money in exchange for manipulating the distribution of funds.

According to Akech this unethical behavior has resulted in delays in the disbursement of funds to the rightful beneficiaries in Dokolo District.

Their efforts send a strong message against corruption and exploitation, making it clear that no one is above the law.
