Moroto Uhuru Cup Final

A thrilling showdown at the Moroto Uhuru Cup Finals on Uganda Independence Day October 9, 2024, ended in heartbreak for Venoms Sports Club, as they loss 0-3 in a penalty shootout to Nakapelimen FC.

The highly anticipated match, played at the Moroto Prisons Football Ground, drew hundreds of passionate fans, eager to see their teams battle it out for the title.

Despite a tense, action-packed game, neither team managed to score during regular time, or even in extra time, leaving the fate of the match to be decided by penalties. Nakapelimen FC’s scorers, Topa Nandigobe, Emmanuel Ochen, and Christopher Kodet, delivered precise shots that secured their victory, while their star goalkeeper, Pius Emuro, made three spectacular saves to clinch the win. His outstanding performance earned him the title of “Man of the Match.”

After the final whistle, celebrations erupted as Nakapelimen FC’s players and supporters rejoiced in their hard-fought victory, while Venoms SC left the pitch disappointed.

Sylvester Lotieng, head coach of Nakapelimen FC, beamed with pride, crediting the win to rigorous training and the mental toughness of his players.

“We came prepared to win, and thanks to God we won.” Lotieng said.

The victory marks a moment of glory for Nakapelimen FC, as they lift the Moroto Uhuru Cup, leaving their fans dreaming of future triumphs.
