In a shocking display of solidarity and determination, Over 200 voters from Okwongodul sub county has on Wednesday made a surprise visit to Adeknino Sub county, with a clear mission to inform the residents that they must make the same decision on January 15th, 2026, by voting for Dokolo South MP, Vincent Opito, a resident of Adeknino Sub county.
The visit, which took place at Vincent Opito’s home, was led by Polly Ogili, who confirmed that Okwongodul sub county has decided to vote wisely this time, bucking the trend of divergent voting patterns that have characterized the sub county in previous elections.

According to Geoffrey Ocen, the UPC party chairperson for Apenyoweo parish, Okwongodul Sub county is among other sub counties that are in dire need of change this time, and the people have decided to join forces with other sub counties in greater Kangai to vote for UPC’s Vincent Opito, who has been contesting for the Dokolo South MP seat since 2016.
Charles Hellen Erudu Okwada, the UPC party chairperson for Okwongodul sub county, emphasized that everyone must revise their vision when it comes to voting for MP in Dokolo South, and that Kwera and Okwongodul sub counties must join forces with other sub counties in greater Kangai to vote for Opito.
The move has been welcomed by Edii Brunos Okwel, the UPC party chairperson for Adeknino Sub county, who sees it as a positive step towards balancing leadership in Dokolo South.
”Voting for Opito from Adeknino Sub county will show that Dokolo South is committed to balancing leadership and not every time leaders are coming from Kwera sub-county,” he said.

Vincent Opito, the UPC candidate, expressed gratitude to the people of Okwongodul for making a surprise visit to his home, and appealed to them to continue the love and support that their grandparents had for his family.
“You are not the first visitors to come, even when our grandparents were alive, people used to come but the question is, what are you going to do to our family so that the love that our grandparents use to give continues,” he asked.
The visit by Okwongodul voters to Adeknino Sub county is seen as a significant development in the Dokolo South MP race, with many analysts predicting a tough contest between Opito and other candidates.

However, with Okwongodul sub county, which has a significant number of voters, now firmly behind Opito, his chances of winning the seat have received a major boost.
