‎Six out of 11 applicants for the position of Dokolo District NRM Administrative Secretary have failed to make the shortlist despite having clear academic credentials.

‎

‎Those not shortlisted include famous gospel singer Daramoi Denis Bob also former Bata Sub-county Councillor, Tonny Okwor, the Bata Sub-county NRM Youth League Chairperson, Francis Osika, Ambrose Ogwang, Isaac Omara, the NRM District Registrar, and Steven Ogwang, former Amwoma Sub-county Councillor.

‎

‎According to authorities, the party assessed all 11 applicants and only five were shortlisted after meeting the required qualifications and submitting all necessary documents, including party membership cards, National Identification Cards, and academic credentials.

‎

‎However, rumors are circulating that the failure to rally behind NRM candidates during the recently concluded pool contributed to some applicants being dropped from the shortlist, despite their academic qualifications.

‎

‎A member of the NRM District Executive Committee [DEC], who preferred anonymity, told this publication that in several party gatherings, leaders have emphasized the need to strongly back party flag bearers at all levels, but some members were resistant, a factor he believes influenced the shortlisting.

‎

‎”I believe some people openly worked against the party during the election, and that could have played a role in who made it to the shortlist,” the DEC member said.

‎

‎Speaking to LBS radio the party’s Publicity Secretary and councillor representing Bata town council Raphael Okello said the shortlisted candidates had successfully met the requirements for the position following a vetting exercise.

‎

‎He confirmed shortlisting; Okwir Geoffrey from Adeknino Sub-county, Okello Hillary from Okwongodul Sub-county, Atieno Elisabeth from Kangai Town Council, Otaka Ivan from Amwoma Sub-county, and Ecir Leonard from Kwera Sub-county urging unsuccessful applicants to remain patient, noting that more opportunities could arise in the future.

‎

‎Okello said the interviews will take place on October 26, aligned with the party aims to have Administrative Secretaries in all districts by the end of October.

‎

‎With five applicants shortlisted, Okello revealed that only three of the five candidates will be selected, with their names subsequently forwarded to the party’s top officials (Secretariat) for further consideration.

‎

‎He called on NRM supporters in Dokolo District to remain united and supportive as the party works to identify a suitable candidate capable of strengthening its leadership and advancing its interests in the district.
