Amolatar District Receives Shs150 Million Science Teaching Kits.

‎The Ministry of Education and Sports has provided science teaching kits worth Shs150 million to primary schools in Amolatar District.‎‎

The District Education Officer, Peter Obote, said Amolatar is among the 29 districts nationwide that benefited from the initiative. ‎‎

He explained that the kits will be distributed to 20 primary schools—15 best-performing and five worst-performing schools in the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

‎‎According to Obote, the targeted distribution is intended to both sustain good performance and support poorly performing schools to improve learners’ achievement in science subjects.‎‎

He commended the government for the support, noting that the science kits will help strengthen the foundation of science education at the primary level.‎‎

Ambrose Tumuramye from River Flow International, the company contracted by the Ministry of Education and Sports to assemble and distribute the kits, said the equipment will promote practical learning.

‎‎He added that hands-on teaching will help learners grasp science concepts more easily compared to the previously theoretical approach.

‎‎Meanwhile, the Amolatar Chief Administrative Officer, Rhoda Oroma, urged teachers to make proper use of the science kits to enhance science learning and improve overall school performance.‎‎
