DOKOLO – Authorities in Dokolo District have commissioned a renovated classroom block at Kachung Primary School in Agwata Town Council to reduce learner congestion during class hours.
The development was confirmed to our news desk by Morish Odung Omara, the Acting District Education Officer for Dokolo, in an interview with our reporter.
According to Odung, the classroom block was completed under the 2025/2026 financial year renovation project. He said the new facility will greatly help to reduce congestion and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils at the school.
He further urged teachers in the district to “pull up their socks” in order to improve learner performance and academic standards across Dokolo.
School leaders welcomed the project. Nelson Omara Orech, Chairperson of the School Management Committee, and Boniface Opio, the Headteacher, praised the district for renovating the classroom block to a good standard. They said the work will provide pupils with better classroom space and improve learning conditions.
However, the leaders appealed to parents to rally pupils back to school and requested the district to provide more sanitary facilities. They noted that the current eight-stance latrine is inadequate for the school’s total enrollment of 1,604 learners, both boys and girls.
