Dokolo D. RDC Cautions Candidates Against HIV, Early Marriage

‎DOKOLO – The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Dokolo, Suliman Ismail Masaba, has called upon students to prioritize safety against HIV and avoid early marriage.

‎Masaba made the call on Saturday, October 3, 2026, while speaking as Chief Guest during the dedication prayers for the S.4 candidates of Dokolo Progressive Secondary School in Dokolo Town Council, Dokolo District.

‎Masaba said students should not live a careless life that may expose them to HIV, which is rampant, and urged them to stay safe and healthy.

‎He also told parents that early marriage is not the solution and young girls should not be seen as a source of generating wealth for parents through early marriage.

‎According to Ejedio Okello, the Head Teacher of Dokolo Progressive SS, the school has prepared 110 registered candidates and academically they have covered the syllabus and guided them well to excel. He urged parents to support the school with more learners.

‎James Komakec, the Principal of Dokolo School of Nursing and Midwifery, cautioned the candidates to desist from sexual relationships that may affect their future.

‎Rev. Ven. Sadrack Ogwal, the Archdeacon of Dokolo Urban Archdeaconry, Diocese of Lango, said students are the salt of their homes and they should be somebody who will make a difference and be a transformer and elevator in the family.

‎He also cautioned students against drug abuse, saying God has not created a factory in the mind to be boosted or empowered by drugs, alcohol, and smoking marijuana.

‎Rev. Can. Richard Opio Atoo, the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Dokolo Progressive SS, encouraged parents to sacrifice resources to educate their children to eradicate ignorance and achieve more benefits of education.

‎Meanwhile, Retired Rev. Maxwell Okello of the Church of Uganda urged parents to have love for the school and teachers to play their roles with their whole heart as chosen by God to make students excel.
