Greater Lango Muslim Chairperson Sheik Rajab Okwee Warns Imams Against Juma Service Absenteeism

DOKOLO – The Chairperson of Greater Lango Muslim Administration, Sheik Rajab Okwee, has issued a stern warning to Imams, against absenteeism from Juma services.

Sheik Okwee made the warning on Tuesday at Akuli Village, Kwera Sub County, during thanksgiving ceremonies organized by Rajab Epila, a retired Natural Resource Officer of Dokolo District, to mark the official opening of his newly constructed home.

‎Addressing the congregation, Okwee said Juma service is a weekly prayer conducted every Friday in every mosque and it is compulsory for all Imams to lead the service without fail.

‎He emphasized that consistent leadership in Juma prayers is key to strengthening the faith and unity of Muslims.

‎The chairperson also appealed to Muslims to always support their Imams where necessary to ease their work in leading Juma services and to support the development of mosques.

‎Meanwhile, Kaberamaido District Khadi, Sheik Abdulai Emuron, urged Muslims to prioritize education for their children.

‎He encouraged them to rally children to school to nurture future leaders and to guide those interested to join Muslim converts’ centers to train as Imams, Sheiks, and Khadis.

‎Ramathan Adam, the Murshid of Bata Mosque, Imam Salim Engwenyu of Kaberamaido Mosque, and Rashid Odongo of Asad Mosque Dokolo also addressed the gathering.

They urged Muslims to make God their protector instead of relying on witch doctors, to always organize thanksgiving prayers for their success, and to embrace education for their children.

‎Jafa Ocaya, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Dokolo who spoke as Chief Guest, urged residents to remain hardworking and to avoid domestic violence.

‎He stressed that unity and discipline at home and in the community are essential for development.

‎The thanksgiving ceremony brought together Muslim leaders, cultural leaders, and residents from Dokolo and neighboring districts.
