Masaka court remands MPs Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana over Masaka murder charges

Members of Parliament Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North and Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West have been remanded over murder cases.

They are accused of murder of Masaka dwellers in the recent Bijambiya attacks that left more than 27 people killed in the sub-region.

The Mps were first invited at the Masaka Central Police Station on inquiries that they were part of the racket that killed people in Masaka.

They arrived with lawyers Shamin Malende and Erias Lukwago at Masaka Central Police Station on Monday morning, questioned before being set free on police bond.

Today, the two legislators appeared before the Masaka Chief Magistrate court after they were charged with four counts, three of murder and one of attempted murder.

They were remanded to Kitalya government prison until 15th September 2021.
