Kampala– Former Kazo Constituency Member of Parliament, Gordon Bafaki is dead.
Bafaki (48) died in an accident that happened on Wednesday at around 1:20am at Kiwatule along Northern bypass.
Police reports indicate that the accident occured after Bafaki’s motorvehicle reg no UBD 965E Toyota/land cruiser TX collided with a Mercedes Benz trailer reg no KBZ 539Z.
According to Faridah Nampiima the traffic police spokesperson, Bafaki died on spot and his body was taken to Mulago City Mortuary.
Nampiima notes that the driver of the trailer identified as John Kahagi Kinuthia is in police custody to help in investigations.
Deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa has eulogised the deceased for pushing interests of his people and the country at large.
“I am saddened to learn of the death of former member of Parliament for Kazo Hon. Gordon Bafaki who perished in an accident along the Northern Bypass last night. He was an assertive colleague who pushed for the interests of his people and country. My condolences to the family.” Tweeted Tayebwa on Wednesday morning.
