Three suspects accused of assaulting Amolatar radio presenters denied bail

By Moses Obwona Ogwal

Dokolo Chief Magistrate Samson Abiti Loum Wednesday denied bail to three suspects who were arrested for allegedly beating three radio presenters in Amolatar district.

The suspects were on Wednesday arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court in Dokolo.

However, Abiti said that there was no clear reason for the court to take up the case since it’s at the same level with that of Amolatar where the incident happened.

He therefore remanded the suspects and refered them back to Amolatar where they are expected to appear before the Chief Magistrate Court Thursday for hearing of their case.

It is reported that on Monday June 27, 2022, the trio; Otum Pala, Moses Okullu, and Innocent Ocen forcefully entered into the studio of Hot FM and assaulted the presenters live on air and also caused damage to the studio equipment.

The presenters who were assaulted are Alphonse Odur alias Fege Hege, Baker Okello and Ladye Ojok Barbra. See details here: https://lbs.co.ug/2022/06/28/3-arrested-for-beating-up-radio-presenters-on-air/
