Kampala – The State Minister for Higher Education  John Chrysostom Muyingo has urged learning Institutions to embrace technology for learners’ proficiency in digital skills.

According to Muyingo, incorporating digital skills into the education curriculum creates a generation of digitally competent citizens positioning them to solve both national and personal problems.

Muyingo called upon both public and private schools to prioritize equipping learners with digital knowledge and tools as a way of ensuring the education system remains relevant to the demands of the digital age in which we live.

He asserted that digital literacy, coding proficiency, data analysis skills and other technological competences are essential for personal growth, career advancement, and national progress.

He said this on Thursday during the launch of the first Digital Transformation Roadmap in Kampala.

“Launching this digital transformation roadmap is a testament to the commitment of the NRM government for ensuring that our education system remains relevant and responsive to the demands of the digital age. We thank the ministry of ICT and National Guidance for the support you continue to lend to the education sector and achieving the milestone we witness today,” said Muyingo
