Lira High Court deputy registrar transferred in a new judiciary reshuffle.

The Judiciary has transferred the deputy registrar of Lira High Court Geneva Natukunda to head the lands division registry in the new changes made in the lower bench of the Judiciary.

In the new changes made by the Judiciary Chief Registrar Sarah Langa Sui Tuesday also saw the chief magistrate of Apac Said Baringye transferred to Nwoya/Gulu high court circuit in the same capacity.

Ssalaam Godfrey Ngobi who has been the assistant registrar of Soroti will now head to Lira to replace Geneva Natukunda while Samsom Abiti Loum who has been the chief magistrate of Bubulo will replace Said Baringye in Apac/Lira Circuit as the chief Magistrate.

In other transfers,aaistant registrar of Gulu Matenga Dawa Francis has been moved to Fortportal while Aanyu Magret who has been the chief magistrate of Sorori will now take charge of Kaberamaido and Katakwi.

While communicating the changes, the chief registrar Sarah Langa Siu, said that the deployments and transfers were in the interest of improving the administration of justice in the various courts.

Langa added that some of the divisions like land, family and commercial needed boosting given the volume of work in their respective registries.

She further stated that the judicial service commission had extended the appointment of the eight acting chief magistrates who were initially appointed in January 2021 on short term engagement
