Adventist President Extols Museveni For Promoting Peace In Uganda.

The Adventist leadership in Uganda has praised the Ugandan government for promoting peace and for containing Covid 19 variant.

The Uganda Union Mission President Pr. Dr. Daniel Matte made the statement in his New Year message.

Dr. Matte says the Ugandan government has put efforts to uphold peace and for laying workable measures of containing the escalating number of Covid 19 pandemic.

‘‘I applaud the government of Uganda, under the leadership of President Museveni for the ongoing efforts to uphold peace and for the measures taken to contain the Covid 19 pandemic from the onset till the full reopening of the economy as announced by him on December 31, 2021’’, Matte statement reads.

Dr. Matte asked Ugandans to remain adhering to Covid 19 pandemic guidelines so as to contain the new variant of Omicron.

‘‘My heart reaches out to those who suffered loss of their dear ones and their means of livelihood owing to the pandemic and other related challenges.May the lord grant you comfort and may his grace give you a new come back’’, Matte stated.

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church leadership in Uganda also appealed to her Christians to seek God first in all plans and activities of 2022 reflecting 2021 which was a year of challenges.

In Uganda, from 3 January 2020 to 29 December 2021, there have been 137,337 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3,287 deaths, reported. END
