LBS radio resumes operations

Dokolo – Lango Broadcasting Services (LBS) radio is back on the airwaves, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

After a brief hiatus due to a thunderstorm that sadly claimed the life of local artist Morris Olum, the station manager, Fred Eladu, announced the exciting news on Monday evening.

“Good evening Ladies and gentlemen thanks for all your prayers and comforting messages for the past week. I’m glad to inform you that we are officially back on air. Ebenezer,” Eladu posted to the official LBS radio listeners’ Whatsapp group.

“We’re grateful for all the love and support from our listeners during this difficult time, and we’re ready to bring you the best in Luo, Kumam, Ateso, and English language programming once again. Stay tuned for more updates as we bounce back bigger and better than ever!” He added

The late Morris Olum alias Great Boy (23) was being hosted together with four other artists on LBS radio to popularise a musical show when the incident happened on March 25, 2023. The thunderstorm also left the radio station property worth millions of shillings destroyed.

According to the radio Programs Manager Stephine Opio Ongora, normal programming will commence soon.

In a message addressed to the radio staff on Monday evening, Opio expressed gratitude to both God and the management team for their collaborative efforts in getting the station back on air. Opio also urged all staff members to be present at the station the following day, as he anticipated the resumption of normal programming.
