Jinja – Kiira Regional Police and Jinja City are investigating circumstances under which a 15-year-old male juvenile of Jinja College was attacked by a group of students.
It is alleged that the students on June 14, 2023, gagged the victim with a piece of cloth, tied him and pushed a stick into his anus leaving him unconscious.
Later when the victim regained consciousness, he was rushed to Nile International Hospital in Jinja where the stick was removed.
The victim had reported four students involved in acts of sodomy within the school premises which led to their suspension.
“This student started getting threats from the colleagues of the other four who were suspended that’s how they attacked him,” police spokesperson Fred Enanga said on Monday.
“We do strongly condemn all forms of sexual violence and torture in schools,” he added
Enanga noted that efforts are in place to ensure the perpetrators are identified and held accountable for their crimes.
He further urged all school proprietors and administrators to provide safe learning environments to ensure the safety and security of students and the school infrastructure.
