Dokolo Urban Archdeaconry seeking Shs1bn for construction of new St. Andrews church

Dokol – Dokolo Urban Archdeaconry is seeking about 1 billion shillings for the construction of the new St. Andrews church of Uganda in Dokolo.

The multi-million project according to the Archdeacon of Dokolo Urban Archdeaconry Rev. Ven. Canon Sylvester will comprise offices of the Archdeacon, youth, mothers’ union, and mission among others.

Rev. Ocen said plans are underway to have the groundbreaking ceremony of the church on April 23, 2023, to be presided over by the Rt. Rev Alfred Olwa, Bishop of the Diocese of Lango.

He said the church that will be called “The High Way Church” will act as the opening gate for the Christians coming from the eastern part of Uganda.

Ocen said that they have started receiving contributions both in cash and kind for the construction of the new church.

He, therefore, called upon well-wishers and partners to join hands in support of the construction project.

Dokolo Urban Archdeaconry which is under the diocese of Lango started in 2021 and comprises three parishes including Awiri, Akolodong, and Dokolo.
