Mubende -Two people died on spot in an accident that happened in Kirungi trading center, Mubende municipality on Sunday evening.
The accident which happened at around 7pm involved a motorvehicle reg. no. UBG704G/UAU314D a trailer and a Bajaj motorcycle no. UEY218F red in color.
The deceased have been identified as one Harriet a 32 year old female and Prisica Namatovu a 3 year old female juvenile.
It is alleged that the motorcycle which was carrying two passengers was trying to overtake the trailer before it hit a hump and lost control. The rider of the motorcycle jumped off leaving the passengers and the trailer stepped on them killing them on spot.
Racheal Kawala the Wamala region police spokesperson confirms the accident. “The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mubende hospital mortuary pending postmortem. Both the motorcycle and motorvehicle have been parked at Mubende CPS pending inspections.” Said Kawala
She added that efforts to arrest the rider of the motorcycle are underway as investigations into the matter continue.
