TAAC launches operations in Dokolo to tackle corruption

Dokolo- The Apac Anti Corruption Coalition (TAAC) has launched a six months project in Dokolo with support from GIZ.

TAAC will focus on accountability and strengthen the citizens to engage and demand effective and sustainable service delivery from duty bearers and other service provider.

The project targets six districts in Lango Sub-region. They include Apac, Kole, Oyam Kwania, Dokolo and Amolatar.

The program officer of TACC Charles Otim who represented the Executive Director Tom Opwonya Superman at the launch says the major aim of TAAC is to respond to the citizen’s concerns and collaborate on the issues raised to ensure that there is transparency and accountability as the only way of reducing corruption in Uganda.

Otim urged the community and stakeholders to come together and support the organization in the fight against corruption for improved service delivery.

James Apili Oto Apili, the LCV chairperson Dokolo called for maximum support towards TAAC to be able to achieve Zero tolerance for corruption.

Barbara Akech, the Resident District Commissioner of Dokolo thanked TAAC for choosing the district to roll out this program.

She pledged support to the organisation in fighting corruption and to see that transparency and accountability are realized for the community to get better service delivery.

The Apac Anti Corruption Coalition (TAAC) started operating in 2003 from Apac and later extended countrywide before the suspension of the Democratic Governance Facility. (DGF)
